Beaverhead agricultural labor committee sets a five dollar daily wage for experienced hay hands. F A Ralston notes haying is underway with no severe labor shortage yet. Emperor’s New Clothes staged by child theater group
Peggy Smith stars as the Emperor in a child friendly production of Hans Christian Andersen’s tale, performed last Saturday in the Normal college auditorium. Under Myrtle Savidge’s direction, with costumes and musical help from Mrs. Jake Neidt, Ruth Olson, and Ruby Rasmussen, the free admission show closed the summer program to positive reception from young critics and parents.

Frank Lovell, former Dillon newsman now an instructor at Mira Loma Oxnard CA, part of a nine member squadron achieving an all time safety record in training Army air force aviation cadets. The group trained 59 green cadets with only one minor inaccuracy and 92 percent graduation. Training included over 8500 take offs and landings. Ranch Hand Frank Ely Dies in Dillon Saloon
Frank Ely of Gooding Idaho, a Big Hole Basin ranch hand, collapsed and died in a Dillon saloon on Saturday afternoon. Ely had worked at the Big Hole this summer and had been in Dillon for about three days. The body is at Brundage funeral home as funeral arrangements are awaited and no relatives have been found.
