A city council resolution passed at its regular meeting last Wednesday excludes portions of the East side addition east of Oregon Street from Dillon city boundaries. Parts of Dutch Flat are also removed from Dillon property under the measure, the first time districts have been subtracted.

Deadline Set for Renewal of A Book Rationing Cards
Beaverhead county motorists must renew their A rationing books by the stated deadline. New A books become effective July 21 and require applicants to file at the rationing board office at 190 South Montana Street with their tire inspection certificate. Applications may be obtained at the rationing board office or local filling stations.

State Water Inspector H. E. Garber toured Dillon's municipal water system on June 17 and commended Water Commissioner Elza Patrick and city officials for multiple improvements since 1941. Prominent Citizen Earl Wheat Dies in Salt Lake City
Earl Wheat a longtime Dillon civic leader died Thursday in Salt Lake City after a brief illness. A former volunteer firefighter and early band member he also played shortstop on a renowned Dillon baseball team. He led as grand exalted ruler of Montana Elks in 1934 35 and served nine years as local Elks secretary. Born November 13 1888 in Pageville Madison County he moved to Dillon as a youth and graduated from Montana College Deer Lodge before returning to Dillon to manage S S Patterson Company which later became Wheat family firm.

Butte Fisherman Fails to Recover After Attack
Richard Dwyer of Butte died in Wise River last Friday evening after a heart attack while fishing. His son J A Dwyer found him slumped and rushed him to Wise River where he expired. Co. Col. Raymond Schwartz said death was from natural causes and no inquest is needed. Body taken to Butte for interment.
