Dillon prepares for a gala Fourth of July with ample arrangements completed and every feature set to entertain a huge crowd. Officials promise an immense turnout and a memorable day for residents and visitors.
The Dillon Fourthwill feature a full schedule with a 3 pm ball game, boxing at the Dillon Theatre, and a grand evening ball. A Montana State Band from Butte will perform after a 10:30 am train arrival, while a Helena Street parade forms at 9 am led by Eph Stoller.
Articles of incorporation filed with the County Clerk and Recorder for the Gilmore and Pittsburg railroad. Principal business in Gilmore Idaho. Five directors to start, including W A McCutcheon and Robert Little. Capital stock set at two million dollars with twenty thousand shares of one hundred dollars each. Subscribed capital seven thousand dollars to date.

Huber Bros. of Dillon won the contract over four competing Montana firms for furnishing the Cruiser Montana with a silver service valued at $5,000. The commission weighed only larger pieces per Admiral Dewey’s guidance to deter theft while covering sets of fifteen to thirty-five pieces.
S L Bell handled business matters in Dillon yesterday, focusing on pending finances and local affairs.
The Dillon baseball team dominated the Butte Ryan and Newton squad, winning 13 to 1. La Croix and Reichmyer led the victory with strong pitching and hitting while Dillon’s defense kept Butte off base. The report notes Dillon’s form as superior to any state independent club this season. Also mentioned is Norman Holden’s dry farming demonstration near Dillon showing rye growth without irrigation.
Miss Mabel Heath of Idaho Falls and Mr Phil Sappington of Lima united in marriage at Col John A Best home. Rev Wm Pardee officiated in a quiet ceremony attended by close friends. Heath, a former Idaho Falls telephone manager, hails from a respected pioneer family. Sappington, formerly of Dillon, works with the Short Line and is a popular Montana division railroad man.
Earl Moore Clyde Allison and William Daniels faced theft allegations in Judge Rich's court. Moore and Allison were bound over to the district court with bail set at 500 dollars. Daniels was found not guilty and discharged.
