Names and roles announce officers elected at the session of the Sheepmen. Charles H Williams named head, Deer Lodge serves as secretary with Stebbins as another official.
Charles H. Williams of Deer Lodge will lead the Montana Woolgrowers for the twenty-fifth year after being elected president at the convention in Elena. E. O. Selway of Dillon was chosen first vice president and an executive committee and board members were re elected, with Hibbard of Helena and Ryder of Bozeman also listed among officers.
Trevose Pa January 28 Frank Trech of Portland Ore former Olympic shot won the second day shoot at Trevose Gun Club with a perfect score of 60. N B Pil lot of Houston and E W Renfro of Dell Mont tied for second with 49. Eugene Springer of Wildwood NJ was fourth with 48 and Otto Schultz of Sheridan Mont fifth with 46. Steve M Crothers of Philadelphia scored 99 of 100 in the 100 blue rock shoot. Renfro and Springer had 96 each.
A Dillon Parent Teachers Association meeting featured Act President Lee R. Light of the Normal College delivering a thrift education sketch. He urged thrift as the foundation of efficiency, advising practical methods to teach saving, bank accounts, and delayed gratification to children, with quotes from Morgan Rockefeller Holmes and others.

Warner Bros. Vitaphone super revue Show of Shows features Winnie Lightner singing Singin in the Bathtub with Bull Montana and a 60 member chorus in a huge bathroom set. The cast includes John Barrymore Dolores Costello Monte Blue Beatrice Lillie Georges Carpentier Ted Lewis and more over 500 in ensembles.
Hon. Frank Ebel travels to Helena this week to serve as a member at a State Board of Education meeting and participate in official business.
Dillon youths may join the local American Air Cadets as a Dillon branch forms under George Melton. A meeting at the training school Friday at 4 o clock will organize the group with B J Anderson and Sam Parker from Butte in attendance. Membership costs 50 cents for materials and badges.
Patterson and crew harvest Dillon’s ice this week using large blocks stored in warehouses on the Patterson ranch west of town. The supply will be used next summer as temperatures rise after a recent deep dip in the mercury.
A First National Bank of Dillon survey shows Beaverhead county feeding over 12 thousand cattle for winter and spring delivery. Beef steers total 8,942. cows 8,147 including 410 feeder heifers. Most feeders are in the Big Hole basin. The colder spell eased recently.
B R Stevenson prominent resident of the Big Hole basin dies in a Butte hospital after a short illness following a fall that fractured his pelvis. Born December 27 1861 in Boston Massachusetts he was an early Wisdom settler and civil engineer who served as United States land commissioner at Wisdom. Funeral held in Salt Lake City after burial in transit from Dillon.
The Boosters club of Montana State Normal college plans its annual vaudeville and stunt night for Friday February 7 in the college auditorium. The program features ten Orpheum acts and the election and coronation of the Woolvil queen. Irene Bryan of Distertainment is among the performers this year.
Dairy inspector H W Jacobson checked dairies around Dillon and reported a high standard. He remained in Dillon to speak at the high school on Production of Clean Milk to local dairymen and students, with sanitary methods and milk quality discussed. Bernard Williams organized the talk through the Smith Hughes agricultural department.
Montana and Idaho counties receive shares of national forest receipts. Montana counties share 65 968.89 while Idaho counties obtain 156 928.12, based on law allocating lump sum funds by forest land area. Lincoln County leads Montana with about 11 900 for this year and total to date.
The cold snap here finally breaks after 22 consecutive below zero nights recorded by official observer J. E. Monroe. The streak surpassed the prior marathon by about ten days before temperatures rose above zero Monday night.
Dillon Rotary members heard three talks on radio at the weekly lunch. Dr. M A Walker discussed local reception and interference sources. C W Oberem outlined radio history over twenty years and its rapid growth. Dr W H Stephan spoke on reception. Charles Woodburn chaired.
Local fans can catch the Bulldogs in two back to back games at Normal Gym facing Idaho. Tomorrow night and Friday promise exciting basketball action with both teams aiming for a win.
Dillon fans are promised four major basketball clashes this week at the college gym. Montana State Normal meets the University of Idaho and Southern Branch in two high profile tilts scheduled for tomorrow and Friday nights.
Heels beat Lima All-Stars 65 18 in Dillon while the Midwests of Butte edged Brundage High Powers 29 24 in a tense rematch. Ebels led Dillon with fast passing and scoring while Merrill Downing starred for Lima. Preliminary saw High Powers beat Beaverhead 20 16. Next week Bruers face Texaco of Butte at the Normal gym.
Beaverhead chapter of DeMolay presented Is Zot So at Hartwig theatre last Thursday with strong direction by Olive Scholz. Cast members included Stultz, Orr, Christensen and others in a well staged amateur production that drew enthusiastic local praise.
Mr and Mrs Lorain Spencer welcomed a baby girl in Fullerton California on January 18 with the mother Stella Mayfield and grandmother Mabel Mayfield, longtime Dillon residents, present at the birth.
Dillon business leaders pledged to support the local Boy Scout troop by underwriting a 650 dollar quota for the coming year. The guarantee will fund a Scout executive overseeing a district including Butte Anaconda Deer Lodge Three Forks Twin Bridges Whitehall Willow Creek Philipsburg and Sheridan. Guarantors included J. E. Wedum W. B. Hartwig Thomas S. Luebben L. K. Adams Ralph Harding T. Lee McCracken A. I. Cashmore Frank Eliel Frank A. Hazelbaker J. Gilbert T. E. Gilbert Dr. R. D. Currie J. C. Harris W. G.
