Gilbert Reelected Woolgrowers President in Montana
W G Gilbert of Dillon was reelected president of the Montana Woolgrowers association at the 39th annual Helena convention. John Foster was named vice president, Paul Etchepare secretary treasurer, with several others named to the executive committee and board of trustees. Resolutions urged opposing reciprocal trade, wool marketing laws, foot and mouth disease imports, and parts of the federal wage hour law, while opposing the Pittman Robertson act. Mrs Ella Lynch of Dillon died after a months long illness at Barrett hospital following an operation in Rochester Minnesota.

Sheriff Paul H. Temple traveled to Billings to attend the Montana Wildlife Federation convention. He was elected by the Beaverhead association to oppose the Pittman Robertson bill and to press for a return to the open duck season around Oct 20 for six weeks. Also attending were John W. Officers Inducted at Diana Lodge Rebekah Meeting
Officers of Diana Rebekah lodge were installed at the regular meeting last Thursday night at the I.O.O.F. hall. Martha Quackenbush became noble grand, with Nellie Lanner as vice grand, Hazel Conger recording secretary, Elma Wright financial secretary, Anna Loree treasurer, Estelle Waldorf warden, Ida Schroeder inside guardian, Myrtle Larsen outside guardian, Ruth Dart Blanche Haynes Mary Jane Rodgers and Lillian Conger as right escorts, Mae Paddock and Esther Schmittroth as chaplain, and Mary Jane Rodgers trustee for four years. Each new officer received pink roses and the incoming noble grand an embossed pillow case. Cecelia Wilson of Jackson made the presentation. The program outlined the life of the founder of the I.O.O.F.

Everett W. Holden, a well known Dillon boxer, was acquitted of a third degree assault and battery charge by a justice court jury after a brief deliberation. The case stemmed from a Jan. 5 altercation at a Dillon resort where John Roberts, Dillon township constable, reportedly suffered a two place jaw fracture. In other news, Mark Clemon and Mrs. Clemon of Jackson attended the Western Livestock Show in Denver. Montana Livestock Production Credit Association elected new board members in Helena including W. Prominent Educator Summoned in New York Death
Prof. Robert Clark, 70, longtime Montana State Normal College faculty member and former dean of University of Montana educators, died Saturday in a New York hospital after pneumonia. He had been on leave since last summer, living with his mother Mrs. Phoebe Clark in Essex Fells, N. J., who just turned 103. Funeral services were held in Essex Fells with interment at a local cemetery.

National Boy Scout week will be observed in Dillon. A meeting of the citizens committee at the Andrus hotel approved the events. The court of honor will award badges February 7 at the courthouse after a January 31 board of review. Montana Wild Life federation gave unanimous approval to a proposed Beaverhead county government fish hatchery. Dillon Veterans Attend Helena Mont Legion Meeting
Three Dillon state officers attended the Montana American Legion meeting in Helena with about 175 present to greet National Vice-Commander Davis of Pueblo Colorado. The Dillon delegation included Geo M Gosman C A Bechler and Thomas E Gilbert. Davis accompanied the group to the train for his return to Colorado.

Substation Moves To New Bozeman Site In Bozeman
Montana Power relocated a 10 ton substation from the Kentucky avenue site to a new Bozeman and Sebree streets location. Edwin Buck, local manager, supervised the transfer begun last Saturday to bring the transformer closer to the city load center for improved voltage and regulation. A steel reinforced sled carried the equipment to the new site.
