Mrs Mary W French longtime Beaverhead pioneer and matron died after her husband George W French, also a Beaverhead pioneer, passed away New Year’s Day. The couple celebrated a golden wedding anniversary recently and Mrs French was highly esteemed in the county. Born in Arcade New York she was sixty six years old. (Continued on page 4)

Killer dogs maim ten head of sheep near Dillon
Ten head of sheep on W. K. Hall ranch west of Dillon were badly maimed by killer dogs last Wednesday morning and had to be killed. The owner could not describe the dogs, only noting one was large in size. City dogs were checked but no teeth traces found, and the killers remain unidentified.

Centennial Man Dies Suddenly at Work in Centennial Valley
Bert May a Centennial valley ranch employee died suddenly Sunday afternoon at the C. M. Jones ranch in Centennial valley. Death was due to heart trouble. he collapsed while following a hay wagon. The body was moved via stage to Monida and then to Dillon by H. M. Brundage and Coroner James B. Phillips. He was about 50 years old and had long worked in the valley.

Beaverhead post of the American Legion invited Dillon public school pupils to skate free at the South Dakota street rink for at least two weeks after a Legion endorsement. The program runs weekdays 3 to 6 pm as operators Ray Stanfield and Douglas Bourquin supported by Adjutant George R. Baker. The Legion also held officer installations after a Metlen hotel dinner.
