Legion District Convention Held in Dillon with 150 Attendees

State officers and Legion auxiliary from the mining district convened in Dillon under Beaverhead post with delegates from nearly all veterans posts. Helena was chosen as next meeting site, as citations honored posts for boosting 1931 memberships.

Former Local Youth Passes Away in Pocatello

UIFFORD BADGER a well known Dillon youth died in a Pocatello hospital after a four day illness from pneumonia. He was 22 and had lived on a Sweetwater ranch. He spent last summer in Dillon and had many local friends. Surviving are his father a McHesser area rancher and a half sister Mrs Hugh Smyth of Blaine. Funeral was held at Blackfoot.

Virginia Randolph of Dillon leads the autumn quarter honor roll at Montana State Normal College with a 3.0 GPA per credit on 17.5 credits. Grace Mary Dunnigan of Hughesville is second. Charles Herbert Wheat a Beaverhead County rancher born in Virginia City died at his North Railroad Avenue home Monday night after a battle with heart disease and lingering illness. A funeral is scheduled for 2 p.m. tomorrow at the Methodist church with many friends expected to attend.

State Receives 21 972 Acres Land From U S

Elena beaverhead county lands transferred from U S General Land Office to Montana State Land Department cover 21 972 acres from federal school grants lost through forest segregation and settlements and a game preserve.
