Former Big Hole rancher injured by bull in Missoula
Jesse Finsley, longtime Big Hole basin resident and rancher, was seriously hurt Friday after being gored by a bull at a Missoula Southside dairy. He suffered a fractured leg and four broken ribs and was treated in a Missoula hospital. His niece Mrs. George F. Dart of Dillon traveled to Missoula, and other relatives were notified. The corral incident left Finsley alone as the bull attacked. the animal had not shown prior aggression.

Butte high school teams head to Dillon for two games this week with Butte Central meeting the Beavers tonight and Butte high visiting Saturday. Tonight marks the Beavers first meeting with Central and a revenge aim after an early season loss. A junior game pairs the training school against high school freshmen in the prelim.

Principal Orr Re-elected At Beaverhead High School
Principal Conrad O. Orr of Beaverhead County High School was offered a two year contract by the board of trustees. The deal covers the period from the end of his current contract next summer to the end of the 1941 school year. Beaverhead county commissioners held their regular monthly session January 3 4 5 1939. Martin C Jackson was named chairman for two years. All county officers elected November 8 1938 were qualified and bonds approved. The board read approved prior session records and adjourned. Two highway accidents were reported by state patrolman Robert Wright near Dillon. Tom Hain Idaho Falls escaped injury after a guard rail crash south of Barretts. Hain posted a $10 bond for appearance January 18 in Judge George Opps court on unlicensed operation charges. A second crash occurred near Twin Bridges involving James Yeo.

Dillon Man Wins Medal for State Policy Submissions
Gilbert Hilde of Dillon returned from Billings where he attended a convention of Montana Wyoming agents for the Mutual Life Insurance Company of New York. He received the company medal for obtaining more applications for policies than any other agent in the state and was selected as a delegate to represent Montana at the companys national convention in Atlantic City in May.
