Officers of Water Users Elected at Regular Meeting
Officers of the Water Users Irrigation company were elected at a Monday afternoon meeting in the courthouse courtroom. J E Keller was reelected president and Bruce A Risley named secretary. Directors chosen included Keller, Ray D Martinell, E R Gleed, Henry Fitter, W H Wyatt, Theodore Nelson, Chris Peterson, Roscoe Cornell Sr, and Oscar Gravely. Beaverhead county Montana board met in extra session on December 27 1939 at 10:00 am with all members present. They approved state liquor licenses for Jardine Hot Springs Jackson Reno Armstead Glen Hotel Stockmans Exchange Dell Wise River Jolly Inn Wise River Summit Bar Monida Reichle and Glen Hotel and Bar. The session also created an Emergency Relief fund by resolution and considered property sales and WPA funding matters.

Funeral for J Nattrass Held in Dillon
The funeral of J W Nattrass former Dillon resident who died suddenly in Sheridan was held Monday afternoon at St James Episcopal Church with Rev Victor Lewis officiating. Born April 9 1864 in Bowmansville Ontario he lived in Dillon for years and later moved to Sheridan. Survived by wife Mary Coffin Nattrass daughter Mrs Walter Branch of Sheridan sister Mrs F C Wade of San Diego five grandchildren and several Minnesota nieces and nephews Interment at Mountain View cemetery Pallbearers listed.

Coach Ray Gallant plans to face Eastern Montana Normal, then Billings Poly on consecutive nights in early conference tests. A Dillon group forming two clubs, senior and junior, held a Sunday meeting at the Union Pacific freight depot to organize and seek a NRA charter. O. T. Vandegrift named president of the senior club with Russell Smith as vice president and Bob Barrett as executive committeeman. Heaston to Serve Life As Montana Court Denies Rehearing
William J. Heaston of Beaverhead County must serve life in state prison after Montana Supreme Court refused to rehear his case. Heaston was convicted in Bea verhead County for first degree murder of Joseph W. Potts at Wise River on July 24, 1938 following an altercation. He has remained jailed since conviction.

Dillon Ski Club Delights in Snowy Run Near Elkhorn Springs
The Dillon Ski club reports a successful tow installation at their ski run near Elkhorn Springs. A large turnout enjoyed sport last Sunday with snowfall promising better conditions next weekend. President Kenneth Wheat notes the tow operated well and will run Sundays or weekdays for ten fares, overseen by Jack Miller of Farley’s ranch and reachable via President Wheat.

Dillon Elks drum and bugle corps finalize plans for their first invitational dance of the year. The event, Jan 20, will be in the lodge’s new home with Don's dance band providing music.
