Divorce filings surge in December at county clerk office
In December the clerk of court logged more civil actions than any month in 1907 with fifteen filings including four divorce complaints. Pioneer of Lower Beaverhead Leader Amos Pardum Dies in California
Amos Pardum a pioneer of Madison county and early educator in Montana died in San Diego on Christmas night aged about eighty. He helped build the county before railroads with a Colate ranch store and stage line station two miles west of Twin Bridges. He later went to California and had been blind for fifteen years. His widow managed affairs until her death six years ago. Surviving relatives include J W Pardum of Sheridan Newton Orr of Missoula Ella Orr principal at Butte High School and a brother in Ohio.
