Esteemed Dillon resident Emma Carhartt dies at 86
Emma L. Carhartt 86 longtime Beaverhead County resident died last Sunday at Barrett hospital after a brief illness. Born May 16, 1861 in Salt Lake City she moved to Dillon in 1882 with her husband John L. Carhartt a mining man. Survived by a niece Ralph McFadden two great nieces and distant Utah relatives she was active in the Presbyterian church and the Manse society. Funeral at the Presbyterian church with Dr J Thompson Baker officiating and interment at Mountain View.

Bond Grocery team of the Commercial league topped the mid season pin tournament at Dillon Bowling Center Tuesday night with a high total of 2740. Antelope Released in Rattlesnake Area by State Crew
Beaverhead county received 55 head of antelope last week from a 200 head herd captured in a wire enclosure near Harlowton. Deputy Game Warden Charles R. Price said the animals were released in the Rattlesnake area ten miles west of Dillon near the Ten Mile House. Commission staff expect the herd will thrive where feed is plentiful despite new stocking grounds.
