Young Man Dies at East Bench Home
Con Mears died at his mother's ranch home on the east bench after a long diabetes battle. Funeral mass was held at Rose Catholic church with Rev. Father Leschner, burial in Mountain View cemetery. Born October 30, 1890 in Wakefield Michigan, he moved to Montana about twelve years ago with his mother and siblings. Survived by Mrs. Katherine Mears. brother Joseph. sisters Mrs. McPhee and Mrs. Kate Stewart.

Cross Country Club Holds Twentieth Annual Hike
Members of the Cross Country club enjoyed their twentieth annual hike last Saturday afternoon as they tramped the river road for the annual outing. A hot picnic lunch was cooked in the open and well enjoyed. Many gathered pussy willows in full bloom signaling spring.

Pioneer mining man dies at Argenta
John Thomas Ross a Beaverhead county pioneer died at his Argenta home after weeks of poor health. He was born in Nova Scotia in 1846 and came to Montana in 1870 to mine. Funeral was held in Dillon under Masonic auspices with many local pallbearers. He is survived by his wife and four children.

Dillon Men Attend Ashton Idaho Dog Derby in Special Car
Twenty Dillon sportsmen, led by W Hawkins and F Blair, traveled by a special car to the Ashton Idaho dog derby last Friday. They returned Saturday morning after a weekend trip that boosted the local livestock show to be held in April. The 16 year old winner triumphed in the racing classic as the Dillon group wore badges advertising the event to about eight thousand spectators.
