Mrs Ruth Greenfield led a Health Education class from WMCE on an all day field trip to the state training school in Boulder. Supt Stevens gave an informal talk, tours showed the auditorium and campus projects, and students enjoyed a dinner served by older children.
Lima community church lists Sunday school at 10 a.m. and morning service at 11:15 a.m. LeMont Robertson leads the Latter Day Saints with 10 a.m. Sunday school and monthly Relief Society and Primary times. St Rose Church observes the first Sunday monthly. Pythian Sisters meet in Masonic hall with plans for the district convention in Butte in April. Pythian Sewing club meets with Anna Swoboda and hosts a birthday lunch. OES Sewing club meets at Bonnie Merrell’s home with Grace Martinell presiding. next meeting planned.
The meeting was held at the home of Mrs. Ethel Knox on February 28 with Mrs. Shirley Knox as co host. Present were Mrs. Clara Price Mrs. Gwen Reeder Mrs. Anna Swoboda Mrs. Verla Norman Mrs. Grace Martinell Mrs. Dorothy Bittick Mrs. Lois Merrell and the hostesses.
The Double Four Pinochle club visited Mrs. R. B. Brown on Tuesday. Hilma Merrell won high, Ora Cantrell low, Verla Norman all-out prize. Dessert lunch preceded the games. Attendees included Dorothy Bittick, Hilman Merrell, Verla Norman, Ora Cantrell, Mildred Burt, and the hostess.
The St. Patrick’s Dance is set for March 16 in the Lima high school gym with admission 1.50 per couple or 75 cents for singles. Beaverhead FFA members Gordon Marchesseault and Dean Stanchfield joined officers in Helena for a state training session. They traveled from Dillon February 5 returning February 9, learning about congressional processes and bills.
February 19 is set for Tello to take his second engineer examination. Mrs. Florence McKevitt returned home last Saturday from Butte after visiting Mr. and Mrs. Bill Holton’s home for children since Wednesday. Corky Marlar remains a patient at Barrett hospital in Dillon. friends in Lima wish him a speedy recovery.
Florence C. Quinn 25 was found dead Monday afternoon at 561 E State Helena. Acting Coroner Reed Collings will perform autopsy. She was born February 13 1932 in Dillon and lived in Three Forks before Helena. Survived by husband Patrick and two children Michael Patrick 3 and Karen Ann 8 months. Body at Hagler Mortuary.
Peter Baker husband of Olga Rebich died suddenly Friday in St Helena California Funeral services were held there and burial was made there He was a native of Butte The family moved to California in 1942 Surviving include three sons a son in law and daughter brothers in law and sisters in law three grandsons and numerous nephews nieces and cousins
Montana reports new year to year totals with 200,910 hunting licenses and 235,450 fishing licenses sold from July 1955 to June 1956. U S license holders reach 33,163,831, with fishing remaining more popular than hunting nationally. California leads fishing while Michigan tops hunting.
The Montana Fish and Game Commission ordered the Gilbert ranch in Madison County closed to deer hunting at 8:00 p.m. Sunday February 17, after being open by special permit only.
