Eight BCHS athletes six boys and two girls qualified for the Nineteenth Montana High School Ski Meet in Whitefish February 14-16. The boys lead by Richard Shepherd and Ricky Riebhoff posted top combined scores across jumping, cross country, downhill and slalom while Beatrice Clemon, Tom Stocks and Dana Andrea son head the girls in downhill and slalom.

The Beaverhead 4-H Council will meet at 1 30 p m on Saturday February 16 1957 at the Vigilante Electric building. A leader training session led by Mrs Al Decker and Mrs Nola Halstead will precede the business meeting. They recently returned from the Montana 4 H Leaders School in Bozeman. The session aims to aid local 4 H club leaders and discuss the county program.

Beaverhead County Junior Red Cross completed a November enrollment drive in Beaverhead schools under Mrs Lenore McCollum. New Training Program for Teachers Announced by College
On Saturday School District No. 10 of Dillon and Western Montana College of Education announced a cooperative program to expand teacher training. Subject to State Board approval, the plan starts July 1 1957 with increased student teaching facilities and up to 40 college students training at the grade school each quarter. Dr Herbert Steele called it a distinct advance in the college’s training program.

An independent basketball game between the Bozeman Independents and Funk and Monson Office Equipment is slated for Saturday February 16 at Western College gym. Brick Breeden coaches the Bozeman team. The event is a benefit for crippled children of Montana, sponsored by the Dillon Kiwanis club, with admission 110 for adults and 50c for students.
