Sad Death Of A Little Child In Divide Ranch Tragedy
The Ayers family of Divide mourns the accidental drowning of two year old David B Ayers who suffocated in nine inches of water in a trough at the ranch. Neighbors and family rushed aid, the family physician flew from Butte, but all efforts failed. services were held in Dillon with Dr A B Martin delivering brief remarks. The child was buried at Mountain View cemetery after a last rite at the home of A L Anderson. The Ayers brothers earlier ran a horse buying business and cattle operations in Silver Bow and Butte before moving to Divide. The community extends deep sympathy to the mother father and grandmother.
