Spectators witness ski cross country and jumping tourney
Northern Rocky Mountain Ski Association hosted a two day event at Tash Hill near Elkhorn with 7 teen cross country riders on Saturday and 21 jumpers on Sunday. Jim Livers of Whitefish won open jumping with 206.5 points while Reider Peterson of Bozeman took Class B with 206.2. Warren Ranta of Butte led C class with 203.4 and Gene Stone and Jim Neely tied for third at 185.9. Bill Haley and Ken Keyes led C and B divisions respectively, Haley sharing a 158 foot jump before disqualification for a fall. Douglas Street of Whitefish posted 122 and 114 feet in the longest combined standing jumps trophy event, which Warren Ranta won. The Dillon squad also listed their placings in B C and junior cross country.
