Youths Taken Into Custody For Robbery
Four Dillon youths were taken into custody last Thursday charged with stealing candy and other merchandise from the Bond Grocery. The arrest followed discovery of a broken candy ticket and most stolen goods, including cigarettes and tobacco, were recovered. The store had been broken into three times previously.

First Arrest Ends Ten Months of Car Theft Spree
Robert F. Pierson was arrested in Dillon by Undersheriff Carl Hartwig and Deputy Stine after a ten month spree across Montana and Washington. He confessed to stealing six automobiles, laughed as he told of escaping Spokane police, and was captured after a chance tip while near Barry and Hopkins garage. Pierson had eluded authorities by driving stolen cars until Friday noon.

Funeral of Edward C. Krantz Held in Lima
The funeral for Edward C. Krantz Oregon Short Line fireman killed in a Lima yards accident was held Sunday in Lima. Services were conducted by Beaverhead post of the American Legion the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Firemen and the Knights of Pythias with Rev. Howard B. Ricketts presiding. Interment followed in Lima cemetery. Eight Dillon Legion members attended from Beaverhead post led by Commander George Baker. Krantz’s friends suspect he died while rescuing a small dog from a coal gondola, though reports vary on the exact cause.

The Montana State Normal college team defeated the Montana State college at Bozeman sophomores by a two to one decision. Ford license arrests lead to fines in traffic case
Roy Dolan and W A Dolan were arraigned in justice court and fined ten dollars each for violating traffic regulations after a Ford license plate was found on a Stephens car. City Officer Gordon arrested them and Undersheriff Hartwig took the car into custody. A separate district court ruling discharged J T Streit after sustaining a motion to quash information.

White Cafe to Host Free Dance at City Hall Auditorium
