Mrs. Margaret Poindexter a Beaverhead County matron died Thursday at her son Phil Poindexter’s Long Beach home after months of asthma and age related illness. Funeral held at KE L Poindexter home Dillon with interment Mountain View. She leaves four sons Judge Joseph B and Dr F M Poindexter and H L plus a sister. one son Thomas W Jr had died in 1906.

Former Lt. Gov. W. R. Allen arrives from Boston to survey the Montana Southern railway as construction continues from Divide to Wise River. The 37 mile line links mines to the main line, with a 36 mile power line to Montana Power’s Big Hole plant and plans for a large concentrating facility. John Pope oversees mining development with 11 000 feet of level worked and ore reserves valued at about 25 dollars per ton. Allen will return to Boston in a few weeks.

Helena Jan 29 Resources of Montana state banks on December 31 1918 totaled 123 952 587 97 a new high and deposits rose to 105 119 000 in two months despite two years of drought and war industry shifts. The Willow View schoolhouse in the Rattlesnake district ten miles from Dillon was burned last Wednesday evening. The log structure and contents were destroyed, starting around six o'clock, likely from a defective flue. Loss is estimated at about $1,000.
