Moss of Flathead and Blankenbaker of Chouteau propose cutting the Montana house from 102 to 61 by constitutional amendment. Blankenbaker has also introduced a 1930 census based plan reducing membership to 82, while senatorial districts may be created to halve the 66 senate seats. Governor Erickson urged reapportionment to cut legislative expense rather than pay cuts.

Forestry Officials Show Film Across Beaverhead County
A. A. Schroeder and M. Lu kens of the Beaverhead National forest are touring the county with forestry films this week. Screenings began at Riverside and Bannack and included Boy Scouts in Dillon, Drummey, Apex and Nelson, Reichle and Melrage, Red Rock and Armstead, with Blacktail, Grant and Arenta communities scheduled next and a final Friday showing. The 14 reels feature forest work, contrasts of green and burned timber, plus topics on weather and sheep management, with a comedy included.

Mrs. Lotta Goforth wife of Ralph Goforth died at her Armstead home Saturday morning. Funeral services were held in Dillon at the Brundage chapel with Rev. J. A. Meeke officiating and interment in Mountain View cemetery. She was 42, a Beaverhead county resident 12 years native of Calena Ohio. Surviving are her husband two daughters and her mother in the East.

William Spearin Dies at Barrett Hospital
Beaverhead county resident William H. Spearin, born March 7 1856 in Maine, died this morning at Barrett hospital after a long life in mining and homesteading in the Bloody Dick district and other Beaverhead properties. He moved to the area in the early 1880s after Dillon’s founding.
