Suttons Pleasure Party Opens Week at Opera House

Dick P. Sutton, veteran northwest show manager, brings his Pleasure Party to the Opera House for a week starting Monday January 4. The company features fourteen new comedies and dramas and ten high class specialties with two shows per performance. Vaudeville includes music, dancing, monologues, singing acts, and a trained canine troupe. Prices are 50c reserved and 25c 35c general admission. Opening night Monday January 4.

Normal Entertainment Course Promises Holiday Season Highlights

The Normal Entertainment Course opened with Germain the Wizard to great praise. With holidays paused, larger crowds are expected for remaining shows featuring Sylvester A. Long, Montaville Flowers, James the orator, and the Dunbar concert company. Gale season tickets for the remainder are offered at 2650, with reduced rates for high school and district students.

A Pretty Wedding at Dell Sets Union for Hoffman and Dowling

John H Hoffman and Miss May Me Dowling wed at Dell on December 28 in the bride's mother’s home. The ceremony was conducted by Rev Father Foley of Dillon. The couple, long tied to Bedrock valley and Sage Creek, received gifts and left for their new home on Sage Creek.

Christmas Eve Nuptials Tie Polaris Pair

John Judge of Polaris and Laura Strombeck of Bristol Ind married at the Lusher home on Christmas Eve. The ceremony was conducted by Dr A B Martin with Frank Madden as best man and Pearl Harlem as bridesmaid. The bride moved from Indiana last year and taught in Polaris. Judge, a prominent ranchman and mining figure in Elk Horn district, is vice president of Park Copper Co. They plan to host friends after January 15.

Important meeting for tomorrow on sugar beet proposal

A mass meeting for Beaverhead farmers is set for next Thursday at 2 PM in the Dillon courthouse. George R. Featherly and others report from an Idaho beet field tour with details on growing beets locally, the Utah Idaho Sugar Company proposal, supervision, labor, and pay for beets with shipments to Blackfoot.

Golden Rule Prize Winners Draw At Store

The Golden Rule store held its annual prize drawing with numbers 4548 winning first prize a fur lined overcoat by G R Featherly. Third prize 2238 awarded to Misa Killen Steiner a fine bread. Fourth prize 793 to Miss Killen Steiner a beautiful picture. Second prize 662 and fifth prize 4881 were unreported as of now.

Beef and Turkey Shoot at Dilion Fair Grounds

A big beef and turkey shoot will be held on New Year's Day at the Dilion Fair Grounds. Outsiders are cordially invited. Shots target a four inch bull's eye at one hundred yards off hand. Telescope sights are barred. Warm accommodations. Shooting begins at 12 o'clock sharp.

New Dillon Depot Opens With Grand New Year Reception

Preparations complete for the Oregon Short Line depot opening in Dillon on New Year’s night. The building will be accepted tomorrow and a public reception runs from 8 to 9 with dancing to follow until 1. Soup and a church supper support the event, with proceeds aiding the Catholic church society.

Charter Requested for Dillon Central Heating Plant

Menara W. W. Wilson and K. Marcoe of Dillon Plumbing and Heating completed plans for a central heating plant in Dillon. They seek a franchise to serve the district between Montana and Pacific, Helena and Sebree streets. Projected building 50 by 80 feet costs about 35000 dollars featuring four 110 horsepower boilers and a 10 inch steam main. Plant to run nine months yearly once franchise granted and location yet to be decided within the franchise area.

Schubert Symphony Club to Perform at M. E. Church

Negotiations underway for a Madison event two weeks hence featuring the Schubert Symphony Club and Lady Quartette of Chicago. The well known company, in its 20th year, promises their best program yet and is expected to draw a large audience at the Methodist church on Friday evening January 8, 1952.
