Dillon motorists must obtain new drivers licenses after the first of the year. City Treasurer F C McFadden announced that permits sold last August were valid until December 31 1933 and that the license sale date will be announced later. Each permit costs 50 cents and every person driving a car on city streets must have one, though ranchers and occasional visitors are exempt. Owners must ensure everyone using their vehicle holds a permit.
The recreational committee of the L. D. 8 church opens a series with a Thursday evening program in the newly decorated amusement hall.
A Beaverhead County review shows year end activity with major projects like the Lima dam expansion funded by a government loan. The new year will include federal and state undertakings such as the Divide Wisdom road and paving Highway 91 through Dillon.

Dancing will continue all night, with turkey sandwiches and mince pies served, as crowds from Dillon attend. The venue, under Paul Henneberry, has become a county favorite since last summer.
J. D. Brundage from Lakeview visited Friday and was escorted home by his two daughters who attend the local high school.
The Dillon volunteer fire department hosts two dances next weekend to welcome the new year. The Saturday night event at city hall features a prize drawing for an electric refrigerator and three door prizes. Smithys Orchestra provides the music. Tickets are available.
Beaverhead county high school students sponsor a boxing event at the gym nasium next Saturday at 7 30 pm to raise funds for athletic equipment. Matches include Tom Gibbons versus Jack Girnus Woody Walker versus Paul Murphy Bob Lee versus Paul Fidler Walt Girnus versus Jack Reeves Vince Gibbons versus Chester Melton Al Simpson versus Frank Stephanie Francis Gibbons versus Herb Wheat and Russell Unlisted.
SALMON Idaho Dec 26 Miss Ruth Johnson 23 Clarkston Washington a teacher in Gibbonsville Idaho schools died of injuries after a heavily laden truck fell about 40 feet down a bank. Nine others in the truck headed to Salmon for Christmas were injured, none seriously. Driver Jack Heidi lost control on the steep grade.
