Sakakawea and the Lewis and Clark Legacy in Montana
A historical piece credits Stella M Drumm for locating the Luttig Journal confirming Sakakawea's death in 1812 at Fort Manuel and highlights guardian records for her children. It praises her character, cites Wheeler and Brackenridge, and urges Montana to fund commemorative monuments in Helena and at Three Forks, with Iowa and Congress already supporting Shaft memorials.
