Goodwin T. Paul, Dillon merchant and pioneer, died of a heart attack at his home last Thursday night. Born November 9, 1856 in Marion Iowa, he was the eldest of nine children and studied civil engineering at Cornell College before moving to Montana in 1881. His death surprised the town and left a sense of bereavement.

Winter Term at College Begins Jan 2
The winter term of Montana State Normal college opens January 2. Most autumn quarter students have registered for the term and will obtain books from the textbook library after vacation. Autumn quarter closed last Thursday as students return home for the holidays. The college swimming pool is closed during Christmas vacation.

Licenses To Complete Review Of Happenings In Week Issued County
Traditional month of orange blossoms leads in licenses with 41 Idaho couples contributing to the total. Beaverhead County issued 116 marriage licenses this year, a slight drop from 119 last year and 149 two years ago. Local Youth Dies Sunday in Los Angeles
Roger Cosgrove a former Dillon resident born April 5 1909 dies in a Los Angeles sanitarium after a four year illness. He is survived by his parents Mr and Mrs John Cosgrove and is a grandson of the late John 8 Baker. He attended Dillon public schools Beaverhead county high school and later college.

Car Permits Go On Sale In Dillon January 2
Dillon motorists must obtain a driving permit from the City Treasurer. Permits go on sale January 2, cost 60 cents each, and every person operating a car in the city must hold an individual permit. Expiration of current permits is December 31, with occasional visitors exempt.
