Rotary Club Christmas Program Delights Dillon Rotarians

The Dillon Rotary club heard Rev H N Tragitt of St James Episcopal church speak on the Christmas Spirit and its upward outlook. A quartet sang carols including Mrs W G Gilbert Mrs F D Willis George Bott and Dr W H Stephan with Mrs W F Cashmore at the piano. George M Gosman chaired the meeting and Harold Blinn of Washington State College attended as a guest.

Beaverhead County Sends State Tax Share Totals

County Treasurer Bertie Mathews reported Beaverhead county’s November taxes yield a state share of 20 007 05 dollars sent to Helena. The Greater University fund received the largest portion of the state share, with total county contributions to that fund at 8 603 75 dollars. Compared with last year, totals show declines in most funds, notably General fund fell from 14 041 45 to 6 879 42 while Educational bond and sinking decreased to 2 887 97 from 3 333 85.

Association of Woolmen Established in Montana

A new group named the Association of Woolmen Established was formed at the Beaverhead county courthouse. Roycee Cornell of Dillon was named president, Andy Williams of Alder vice president, and Howard Morse of Dillon secretary and treasurer. The body aims to protect sheepmen’s interests across Beaverhead Madison and Silver Bow counties and will hold its first annual meeting January 16 at 2 PM.

The Dillon Choral Club presented a program of Christmas carols under Mrs. W. G. Gilbert direction on the Short Line depot lawn last Wednesday evening.
