Beaverhead board of county commissioners held their regular monthly session on December 7 and 8 1931 with all members present. They read and approved prior minutes and approved budget transfers. They filed Supplement No 1 to lease No 9597 between the O B L R and the county and approved a Country Inn dance license issued November 24. Appointments to the high school board and examination board were announced for three year terms and terms continued for the next year.

Normal Basketball Quint Breaks Even In Opening Encounters of the Season
District court terms for Beaverhead County set by Judge Lyman H. Bennett of Virginia City will begin January 4 with later calendar dates to follow. Naturalization petition hearings are scheduled for June 14 and October 2. Bannack Pioneer Passes Away in Coeur d'Alene
Delbert Longtin, once a Dillon figure, died last Wednesday in Anaconda after illness and a failed operation. ARS M D Thibideau, mother of W. W. Thibideau and a member of the first emigrant train to Montana, died Monday in Coeur d Alene Idaho. She was a Bannack pioneer who arrived soon after the town was founded.

Roark Sentenced For Gas Theft In County Court
Clonnie Roark received six months in the county jail after pleading guilty to stealing gas from W W Hawking’s car two weeks ago. Accomplices Frank Hunter and Frank Tucker drew 20 days each after likewise pleading guilty. Roark may face burglary charges at the next district court term following discovery of suspected stolen items at his cabin.

Training and High Schools Close Friday for Holidays
Dillon schools will close Friday for Christmas, with a two week vacation. The Montana State Normal College term ends Friday morning to allow connections with trains home. State Board Reelects M A Brannon As Chancellor
R M A Brannon was reelected as chancellor of the greater university at the Montana state board of education meeting held yesterday. A four year contract to Jan 1 1932 was approved. The board also discussed dormitory construction testing teacher employment Montana trained teachers and aid to needy districts. Dr Lee C Williams of Pasadena California spoke on anesthesia at a luncheon club and is noted as a public speaker and chief anaesthetist at the county hospital.

Hunting accident costs youth his arm in rabbit hunt
John Donegan of Twin Bridges suffered an accidental shotgun discharge while hunting rabbits. He stumbled, the muzzle struck his arm, the shell exploded, and doctors at Barrett hospital amputated his arm below the elbow.
