Dillon loses pioneer drayman W. G. Clark who sold the transfer and coal outfit to S. S. Carruthers of the Oregon Short Line. Clyde Carruthers will manage with Clark’s transfer team now under new ownership. Clark retires after 12 years of growth from a single wagon to a prosperous operation.

New Professor Farce Delights Dillon College

Tragic Death of O W Wells at Melroge Camp Creek
Oscar Wells, a leading Melrose resident and local probate lawyer, died in an explosion at Camp Creek while working on a mining claim. His body was found by his wife and a companion. he was a longtime Melrose figure and Masonic member. Funeral services will be held in Melroge under Masonic auspices.
