Art prints exhibit at Metlen building closes Friday
The Dillon Parent-Teachers Association organized a fine art prints exhibit at the Metlen building last week. The show included selections by the training school orchestra directed by L A Gregory and a Thursday program. Proceeds fund new classroom pictures for the city schools. Over 150 prints, reproductions of old and modern masters, were displayed.

Funeral for George Grey Held in Dillon
Funeral services for the late George F. Grey prominent rancher of Grasshopper valley were held at the Masonic temple in Dillon. The Rev H N Tragitt officiated with Dillon Lodge No 16 A F A M conducting. Remains sent to Bannack for interment amid broad county attendance.

Beaverhead county will inaugurate new officials at year start following last month’s election. Martin C. Jackson becomes county commissioner, replacing J. E. Shaw. board members O. C. Gosman and A. W T Scully and A L Stone sold their interests in the Pennsylvania Oil company to Hughes Oil company of Billings. The entire plant and tanks in the southern city and the Glendale Idaho service station passed to new owners. Local manager W K Harris of Roundup will assume duties early next year.

William Finsley Dies in Arizona After Illness
William Finsley former Big Hole basin resident died in Phoenix Arizona on December 8 after a brief influenza illness. His funeral was in Jackson with Rev T J Simons presiding. Born July 16 1874 in Wheeling West Virginia he lived in the Big Hole basin since 1897. Surviving are three sisters Maude Allerton Portland Joe Caldwell Seattle and Michael Macken Rochester and two brothers James Long Beach and Jess W Wisdom.

D V Paddock was elected commander of Beaverhead post of the American Legion at the annual banquet and business meeting held Monday night at the Sugar Bowl. He was the unanimous choice of the vets. Officers elected by acclamation include Jay V McCarthy vice commander George M Gosman finance officer J B Cluley chaplain Walter Stamm historian Eugene W Bond Thomas E Gilbert and F G Lyons executive committee Warren Sutherland sergeant at arms. A membership drive was launched and talks were given by B W Bond retiring commander D W Paddock and J Smith of Anaconda.
