The Big Hole basin grasses from Beaverhead County ranches led by Lt. Gov. Hazelbaker won in Chicago with second place for Timothy, second for mixed Timothy and Clover, and fourth for alfalfa at the International Grain and Hay show. Hazelbaker, acting governor, couldn't attend in person.

Snow Removal Trucks Clean Dillon Streets After Heavy Snow
Trucks and crews removed a mass of snow from Dillon streets in the business district for three days after Thanksgiving storms. Under Street Commissioner Forrest Bayerd, city and private trucks operated to clear piles left by the city grader. Proceeds from a Friday night book program supported by the PTA will fund new school books.

The Dillon Rotary club gathers a large tree from Birch Creek and will erect and decorate it on the Oregon Short Line depot lawn. Alleged gas thieves caught after dance at guild hall
Three men Clonnie Roark Frank Hunter and Frank Tucker were caught by a posse organized by Lambert Eliel near the St James guild hall after taking gas from a car owned by W W Hawkins. Undersheriff Carl Hartwig arrested them. they pled not guilty and face a hearing next Saturday.

Montana State Normal's basketball prospects look bright as 22 candidates, including many returning players and new stars, vie for first squad. The sophomore team fell to freshmen in a recent intra squad, signaling keen competition for positions as coach Brick Breeden shapes a strong season. Mrs Minnie Whitworth travels to Boise for her father's funeral in Lima. Edward Jacobs, longtime railroad man on Utah & Northern and Oregon Short Line, passed away in Boise after years in Lima. He previously piloted on the Idaho Montana division and is survived by two sons Leo and Val.
