Well known Beaverhead man Frank Buhrer dies at 41
Frank Buhrer life long resident of the Dillon area died about 1 PM at Barrett Hospital after a brief illness. He was born near Reichle 41 years ago and lived as a rancher. He served in World War I and belonged to Beaverhead Post American Legion. He is survived by his mother Mrs Minnie Buhrer his wife Genevieve and two children. Plans for a Dillon Beaverhead folder to promote tourism and normal students are reviewed by the Dillon Chamber of Commerce publicity committee. The folder will feature highway maps points of interest and Beaverhead County livestock and agriculture.

Turkey Shoot Planned by Dillon Gun Club
The Dillon Gun club completes plans for a turkey shoot at the Country club traps next Sunday from 10 a.m. The $1 entrance covers blue rocks and a chance at a turkey, with large attendance expected from Butte and Sheridan clubs. Handicaps ensure a fair shot, and ladies will play cards with lunch served in the club house. Turkeys come from the Jack Keenan ranch near Dillon.

Retail Body Sets Store Hours Ahead of Christmas
Dillon stores will stay open until eight pm on December 21 22 and 23 and close at six pm on Christmas Eve. The change was proposed by the retail committee of the Dillon Chamber of Commerce and agreed by most local merchants to allow shoppers to buy early while giving staff time at home. The agreement covers all food apparel jewelry hardware variety specialty and furniture stores that normally close at six pm.

Former Attendant Wins Montana Hairdressers Titles
Helen Wheat, a former Dillon girl, won two Montana Hairdressers titles at the state convention in Missoula last week. She captured first place in finger waving and modeling and received a loving cup at the Wilma theatre Sunday evening. Dr. George Finlay Simmons of the State University delivered the principal address. Miss Wheat is the daughter of Mrs. Edna Wheat and works in the largest beauty shop in Missoula. she formerly worked at the Dorothea shop in Dillon.

Out of Jail Duck Killing Case Man Released
George Butala, who served 1416 days for killing ducks out of season, was released from custody today according to Sheriff Paul H. Temple.

Death at Henry Fitter ranch linked to Fahey suicide
Clarence Fahey also known as Jim Bowers was found dead in his Henry Fitter ranch bunkhouse near Dell from a .22 caliber rifle shot. Companion R C Eckreat said he heard the shot and found Fahey with the rifle beside him. He had been drinking and showed despondency under liquor, dying about a half hour later. Fahey, 43, had resided in Beaverhead County since August.

Adele Pierce Hurt in Cemetery Hill Car Crash
Fourteen year old Adele Pierce suffered a broken leg and back injuries when a car overturned on the cemetery hill east of Dillon. Driver Harlan Harrison and his sister Betty Lee Harrison escaped with minor injuries after gravel caused the wheels to lock and the vehicle to flip over.

Montana State Normal's Bull dogs avenged an opening loss by defeating the Anaconda Anodes 55 to 34 at the Normals college gym. Hunters Fire On Yellowstone Elk Hunt Ends With No Elk
Sheriff Paul H. Temple and Bert Green returned from the firing line near the park boundary after a brisk morning. About 1,500 shots were fired in the first ten minutes and 50 elk were reportedly brought down before the hunt ended without any elk for the day.
