Funeral services are held at Brundage chapel for Mrs. Lon 34 who died Friday night at a Butte hospital. Rev J A Meeke officiated with interment at Mountain View cemetery. The deceased was a Beaverhead county resident most of her life, coming from Ulysses Idaho as a young girl. Survived by her husband, her mother Mrs A A Schroeder of Dillon, her father Ed Ward of Washington, a brother Ed Ward of Lima, another brother Charles Schroeder of Gite and five sisters including Mrs Wil Sullivan and four others in Washington, plus many relatives.

Frank Mittlemeier Services Thursday At Butte Mortuary
Funeral services for Frank Mittlemeier, who died Thursday evening at Murray Hospital, will be held Thursday morning at the Sherman Reed Mortuary at 9:00 a.m. The 9:30 a.m. service will move to the Church of the Sacred Heart with burial at Holy Cross cemetery. Mr. Mittlemeier lived on a ranch near Lemhi Idaho after leaving Dillon years ago. He was born in Hayes Kansas 54 years ago and previously lived in the Birch Creek area. Survivors include brothers Jake Mittlemeier of Dillon and Alex Mittlemeier of Miles City a nephew Earl Mittlemeier of Dillon and several nieces and nephews.

J L Mayland reported the Hereford bull show and sale were the most successful yet and the Hereford futurity will launch next year with the regular show. A resolution favored state aid of 50 000 for Montana tourism promotion amid stiff competition from California. Road plans dominated discussion with T E Gilbert named road committee chair. A Dillon Twin Bridges highway delegation will be sent to Helena with service clubs, and an invitation extended to the state postmasters association for their annual meeting.

Christmas Shopping Hours Set By Dillon Chamber Panel
The Dillon Chamber of Commerce retail committee says stores stay open until 8:00 p.m. starting Thursday December 19 for four days. Shops close at 6:00 p.m. on Christmas Eve. Postmaster Harry J. Andrus says the post office will be open all day next Saturday and the Saturday before Christmas instead of closing at noon.

Grant man dies in hayload accident near Stocker ranch
Robert Stocker 77 of Grant died Tuesday afternoon after slipping from a hay load on a pickup at the Stocker ranch three miles from Grant. He and a hired man were binding the load when the accident occurred. Surviving relatives include his wife, two daughters in Los Angeles, two nephews, a sister in Long Beach, and three nieces. Funeral plans await arrival of his son from Los Angeles Thursday morning.

Butte Trio Arrested for Larceny in Beaverhead County
Three 18 year old Butte youths were arrested Friday evening by Game Warden Boden for burglarizing Bill Gross’s cabin at Trappers Creek. They pled guilty to petite larceny and were fined ten dollars each or jail. County Attorney Schulz warned that locals will impose harsher penalties on repeat offenders.

New Skin Game Revealed In Punchboard Racket
Deputies arrest Joe Rovita and Matthew Porter of Portland for doctoring punch boards at the Club bar and Oasis. The scheme used a plant to steal boards, alter numbers, and reinsert wins. They were fined 12.50 each and ordered to repay about the stolen sums. They left town in an Oldsmobile.

Beaverhead Pioneer Michael Henneberry Dies in Monday Rites
Michael A. Henneberry died recently. born 1863 in Dubuque Town. Final rites were held Monday at St Rose Church with Fathers Lechner and Clifford officiating. Pallbearers included Emerick brothers, McMenomey, Sam Freeman, Ed Roe, and Pat Flynn. Interment at Mountain View cemetery. He lived in Beaverhead County since 1868, married Midge Nelson in 1888, and was an honorary member of the Beaverhead chapter of the Sons and Daughters of Montana Pioneers.

Gottlieb Huber Plans Winter Stay in Wisconsin
Gottlieb Huber left Tuesday for Lamson Wisconsin to spend the winter. He has summered in the Big Hole basin since 1913 and plans to sell his Wisconsin holdings on this trip to retire in Montana come spring. He shipped a full blood ram to Wisconsin to show residents what a plateau Montana ram looks like.

Dillon Gun Artists Triumph at Great Falls Trap Shoot
C. D. Boyer won first place in the handicap event among 90 competitors at the Great Falls trap shoot held Sunday. Local enthusiasts Mr. and Mrs. Pete Westergard and other Dillon gun club members attended the event, which doubled as a house warming for the new club facilities damaged by a hurricane. The Dillon contingent included John Jackson and William Gleed as they look toward next week’s Sheridan flyer shoot.
