Trap Artists Shoot Turkeys At Dillon Gun Club
Nearly 50 trap enthusiasts from Southwestern Montana joined the Dillon Gun Club’s annual turkey shoot last Sunday. Thirty winners claimed from one to four birds, totaling 56 turkeys awarded. Herman Peterson led with four birds after handicaps, with Leonard Schulz Pete Westergard Jack Barrett and John Jackson each scoring three. Other top shooters included Otto Schulz Sheridan and several locals from Anaconda Jackson Lima Butte and Sheridan.

Unseasonable Rain Triggers Beaverhead County Auto Wrecks
Unseasonable rain and ice on Beaverhead county highways caused several crashes Saturday morning. Three accidents occurred on the Butte Dillon highway near the Big Hole bridge north of Glen, injuring none seriously. Drivers include Mrs Les Staudnemeyer of Blaine Mrs Quitman Owens of Dillon and John Wedum of Dillon.

Frank P. Tate a prominent Melrose rancher and Beaverhead county resident for 57 years died at his home this morning. Born June 11 1861 in Boone county Missouri he came west to Beaverhead in 1882 settling at Glendale then Melrose in 1888. He was a well known local figure and a member of Bannack prospects.

Mrs Loren Davis issued a statement clarifying the Red Cross Tuberculosis Christmas Seals campaign. She notes that in 1920 the alliance with the American Red Cross and the National Tuberculosis Association was dissolved after a 1910 agreement, and the double barred cross has appeared on all Tuberculosis Christmas Seals since 1907.

Santa Claus to Visit Dillon for Christmas Parade
Santa Claus will appear in Dillon on Monday December 18 as part of a large pre Christmas event hosted by local merchants and the Dillon Chamber of Commerce. Accompanied by Earl Hammond of Aurora Nebraska the visit features two Eskimo dog teams an igloo trailer a traveling Alaska curios museum and other attractions. The program includes a morning street parade a 3 pm Christmas show at Hartwig theatre and a Far North lecture by Hammond with lecture tickets distributed by merchants. Wise River stockmen push to reopen elk season
A Wise River and Divide delegation visited Helena on November 27 to urge reopening the elk season in the Jerry Creek district of Beaverhead National Forest.
