Sherman Horse Sale Attracts Big Turnout In Dillon Market
The Sherman estate held a large sale at the local stock yards with about 600 head of large range horses sold as Mr. Sherman exits the business to focus on other ventures in Butte. Yesterday 280 head brought an average around 87 350 per head and more sales were expected at similar figures today. Eastern buyers and Butt e Marsh of Butte auctioneered, with plans for monthly sales and improved facilities. Dillon remains a strong horse market in the state poised to grow.

East Side Canal Company Formed for Beach-Land Reclamation
The East Side Canal Co. formed by George R. Featherly John Nyhart and Norman C. Holden all Dillon beach landowners aims to reclaim several thousand acres east of Dillon with a 12000 dollar charter and 300 cubic feet per second water right from Beaverhead river. The canal extends about 20 miles from Graashopper creek north east through townships 6 and 7 south range 0 west to serve Dillon area. Prof E Tappan Tannett has supervised the survey and the company plans to acquire water by appropriation or purchase.

Delightful Summer Socials At Mrs Lusher’s Home
Two pleasant afternoon gatherings hosted by Mrs J W Lusher honored her sister Mrs Frank Stouffer of Sac City Iowa. Mrs Stouffer once taught in Dillon and remains well connected with local friends. Decor features were rich with sweet pea garlands in hall dining rooms and tables set for sixty three with lavender and red floral arrangements. Games included sixty three and flinch with twelve tables across the two days.

Dillon edged Idaho Falls 7 to 6 in eleven innings as pitcher Wilson delivered strong work. The hosting crowd also saw a heavy 19 to 3 defeat by the Butte league team on Tuesday, with Dillon planning a return game against Idaho Falls or Anaconda next Sunday.
