Girl dies after accidental shotgun discharge in Centennial valley
Miss Russ Bean, 20, daughter of rancher Milton Bean, was killed in an accident at Levi Shambow's home Monday morning. A small adopted boy, pulling the gun from a wall, discharged a barrel striking her in the leg. She died about six hours later. funeral held at 2 PM in Jones Cemetery, Centennial valley.

Wreck at Barretts Station Kills Conductor Ewalt
A rear end collision early Saturday near Barretts station nine miles south of Dillon on the Short Line killed conductor Sam Ewalt of Lima and injured several others. The open switch and late No 10 southbound passenger train caused the crash. Engineer Fust survived with concussion while fireman Sappington sprained his ankle. Coroner and local officials oversaw relief as the wreckage damaged coal and refrigerator cars. Ewalt leaves a widow and four children, mourned by the community.
