Dillon Jaycee Rodeo Set to Determine 1957 World Champions
Rodeo events next Sunday and Monday in Dillon will award prize money totaling about 2,000 dollars plus 800 in saddle bronc and 300 in the other events. The Dillon show, approved by the Rodeo Cowboys Association, counts toward the world championships with points earned for dollars won across all approved rodeos. Five events are featured bareback riding calf roping saddle bronc riding steer wrestling and bull riding. Two performances are scheduled for September 1 and 2 with entry fees and purses expected to raise the total prize pool by about 1,600 dollars.

California Man Killed Sunday In Car Accident
Herbert Y. Harless, 36, of Santa Barbara, Calif., died in a Beaverhead county highway wreck near Pipe Organ Lodge, 14 miles south of Dillon, Sunday morning. Three vehicles were involved on U S Highway 91, with Harless in a southbound car that collided with a truck trailer after near-centerline contact on a sharp curve. Virgil remains or details follow.

Legion Members to Run Food Stands at County Fair Rodeo
Beaverhead Post and Auxiliary will operate three food and drink concessions at the county fairgrounds during the fair and rodeo. Legion Commander Ed Swetish announced the plan and urged available members to contact him or Paul Temple for instructions.
