Three Day Western Horse Races to Open at County Fairground
The Dillon Driving club announces a three day event with entrants from Utah Idaho Montana and Nevada. Fifty top horses will quarter near the track as Ray Hitchcock of Helena and A B Cohen of Butte manage the co ownership booth for the mutuel system at the fair. Drawings for day one have eight horses in the 2:25 pace and seven in the 2:14 pace.

Beaverhead county high school and Dillon training school will open for the regular term on Tuesday September 6 with expected higher attendance. Car Stolen at Lima Found Near Butte
A blue Marmon car found burned on a road near Butte last week was identified as the machine stolen from Ed Gleed's Lima garage nearly three months ago. The engine number matched the stolen vehicle. Thieves had days to flee after the theft from Gleed's garage. Frank Linn and Bert Mull were arraigned in justice court.

Former Dillon Woman Dies in Texas
Word arrived last week of the death of Mrs. Kennie Coffin Jones, former Dillon resident, in San Antonio, Texas on August 1. She came to Beaverhead county in 1878 and taught in public schools for many years. She married Lorin T. Jones in 1894. Surviving are her husband, one son Donald Jones of Fullerton, California, and three sisters Mrs. James Kirkpatrick Mrs. Millie J. Crowell and Mrs. K J Thompson of Fullerton California.

Spokane Air Derby to Highlight National Aviation Event
Dillon will field A W Stephenson of Montana Air Service for the National Air Derby. The race starts September 20 in New York with Spokane arrival the next day. Stephenson will travel to Troy Ohio to finalize Waco plane arrangements and return with the aircraft. An aviation show follows at Spokane airport featuring parachute jumps and military aircraft demonstrations.

WM. JACKSON DIES AT BARRETT HOSPITAL
A man named WM. Jackson died last Thursday at Barrett hospital after being brought in Monday in suspected intoxication. He was held by city officers Saturday and lodged at the city jail overnight before hospitalization. An inquest was not held as authorities believed death resulted from the condition noted. He was about 15 years old.
