J. E. Morse driving a big car raced a Oregon Short Line passenger train from Dillon to Butte and won easily. Morse and his family intended to stay over Sunday and meet friends, while Dillon supporters followed along, cheering as the car stayed ahead despite occasional detours for the train.

Woman survives suicide attempt in restricted district

Grace Gorman an inmate of the Green house in the restricted district tried to end her life by swallowing carbolic acid at an early hour. The attempt was unsuccessful after a hard fight by attending physicians who were summoned promptly.
