Beaverhead County Sets Annual Tax Levy for 1906
Beaverhead County Montana county commissioners met August 13 1906 to fix the levy. State funds include general 2.5 mills bounty 4.5 mills stock funds 1.5 mills and others while county purposes levy totals include road 1.5 mills school 2 mills and various taxes. Board also advertised bids for a four dial clock and appointed delegates to the irrigation congress in Boise September 3 1906.

Borrowed Horse Sells At A Very Low Figure
Sam Harris formerly employed at Joe A Brown Jr s Glenn ranch was arrested in Dillon by Officer Lovell for stealing a horse. Harris claimed drunkenness led him to sell the horse for 2.50 to buy liquor and cannot recall the buyer. The horse is still missing and he awaits a justice of the peace hearing.

Pioneer of Dillon Actor Tom O Connor Dies at 69
Tom O Connor a longtime Dillon contractor and Mason, born Syracuse 1837, died of heart failure after a brief illness. Funeral Thursday at 6 pm in the Episcopal Church with Masonic and G A R rites. he came to Dillon with the railroad in the 1880s and built many local blocks. He leaves no known relatives in the area. a brother and others in Syracuse were notified.

Wool Market Takes a Spur at Week's End
The wool market surged as J E Ham ple for Jeremiah Williams Co of Philadelphia led purchases totaling over 300000 pounds at about 20 cents. Other buyers avoided bids while Ham ple's weekly buys included 60000 pounds for Poindexter Orr at 21 cents and 400000 pounds for Steve Cook at 19 cents, boosting county shipments toward the 1600000 pound total.
