Twenty one people joined a four day pack trip to study Range Management education across the Gravely ranges. Forest Fire Fanned by Wind Near Wise River
Supervisor W E Fry said 170 men and four bulldozers battled a wind driven fire on Tie Creek two miles from the Fred Elise ranch in Wise River. The 100 acre blaze spread as patrol planes sought to map its extent while winds hindered smoke jumpers. The fire, believed underined origin, was momentarily controlled before winds pushed it across lines.
