Montana highway patrol reports from state headquarters show 12 244 motorists stopped and given warning cards between May 23 and July 27. During the period 628 motorists were arrested or given summons, with most minor infractions fined two dollars. Drunken driving cases totaled 46, with heavier fines. nine people were arrested for intoxicated behavior or attempting to operate a vehicle while drunk. Boxing Card Set for Dillon Rodeo Week

Hunters Bag a Ton Sage Hens on Sheep Creek
Approximately a ton of sage hens were killed by hunters in the Sheep Creek basin during the open season. Deputy Game Warden H M Krost and Forest Supervisor BH Landvng released the figures, noting 1 061 birds killed from 327 hunter loads. One smoker caused a fire threatening five acres before being controlled by Warden Kroft, Harkness, Kenison, and local ranchers. Funeral of Mrs Hartwig Held
Funeral services for Pauline Pfeiffer Hartwig wife of Julius Hartwig and a Reichle district pioneer matron were held Saturday afternoon at the family home. The Rev Orval A Schmidt of the First Lutheran church in Dillon officiated and interment was made in Mountain View cemetery. She died Wednesday at Barrett hospital after a brief illness. She was born at Highland City near Butte.

Young Dillon Aviators Complete San Diego Flight
Two Beaverhead youths, Joe Polish of Reichle and Harry Colfer of Dillon, flew a rebuilt Curtis-Wright to San Diego California. A forced landing within 40 miles of the destination tested their piloting, but the plane remained undamaged and the boys safety was assured upon arrival.
