Intervention Granted In Montana Insurance Case
T B Miller Jr a Helena businessman was allowed to intervene in a state insurance injunction suit filed by Carroll and Garrison against Secretary of State Mitchell. The action seeks to prevent certification that enough referendum petitions exist to render the new state insurance law inoperative until a vote in 1936. Miller argues the referendum could be denied harming taxpayers with higher insurance costs, citing a projected rate rise from 60 cents to about $3.55 per $100.
