Warning on fur swindle targets Montanans
Montanans Incorporated issued a warning about an organized fur swindle led by a group called the Williamson Trading Company with ties to Boise and Ontario. About 50 members travel in Cadillacs and Packards selling dyed rabbit and house cat fur coats as fine mink and Alaskan furs at inflated prices, often under bogus duty avoidance claims. The scheme covers Montana and other western states, with operations split into smaller centers and nocturnal lodging in tourist camps.
