Beaverhead county track squads prepare for upcoming meets as the annual training school event took place last Monday with public schools competing in 20 events at the athletic field and over 160 ribbons to be awarded. Normal College and other schools will join the county in track contests in May as Coach Brick Breeden leads the high school squad toward next month’s meets.

Divorce Granted in Helena on Mental Cruelty Claim

C F Jensen Died After Long Illness in Butte
C F Jensen died last Thursday in Butte after a lingering illness at age 82. Born in Norway, he came to the United States 52 years ago and lived in Livingston, Great Falls, Dillon, and Butte. He ran a shoe repair shop in Dillon for years and is survived by his wife and five children, including Mrs Marie Evans, Mrs D M Dyer of Butte, Martin C Jensen of Whitehall, Joseph C Jensen, and Mrs Walter Grimes of Dillon.

Choral Club Featured in Music Week Concert
The Choral club marks six months of growth from ten to thirty eight members under director Mrs Wellington Hardy. Shooting at Twin Bridges Ends in Death
Phomas J. Bird, a pioneer rancher of Twin Bridges, is charged with first degree murder by Madison county authorities after the death of 39 year old Fred St. Louis at Barrett hospital Friday night. Bird surrendered to authorities and notified Sheriff Frank Wright.

Fishermen Expect Luck on Blacktail After Trout Planting
About 36,000 native trout fingerlings, four inches long, were planted in Blacktail creek last Sunday by forestry officials. The shipment from the Anaconda hatchery is part of 105,000 fingerlings planted in Beaverhead county streams this season, with 70,000 already in Birch and Willow creeks. More shipments are planned in Beaverhead streams.

Normal Nine Drops First Game At Dillon In Intercollegiate Debut
Montana State Normal fell 12 to 8 to Intermountain Union in Dillon on Saturday afternoon in the first intercollegiate baseball game on record for the school and the first college contest in the state this year. Errors in the fifth and sixth helped Normal tally while Panth ers hitters produced runs in those innings. Bulldog pitcher Cheney was touched for four runs in the third and three in the fifth before relief pitcher Robb shut down the hosts until the ninth.

Former Dillon Youth Makes Good on New York Stage
Robert Finch, once a Dillon youth, is gaining stage success in New York. He will lead in The Mighty Nimrod at the Playhouse Theatre next week and at the Belasco Original Play Center at the Waldorf Theatre the following week with the Henry Players stock company.
