The Egyptian Princess Operetta at Normal College
The Senior class presents The Egyptian Princess in the new Assembly Hall Saturday evening. Miss Thormeyer and Prof. Riedelaberger direct a cast including Alva the Irish princess and Grania with a large supporting ensemble of maidens and attendants. The plot follows Alva’s rescue and Aida’s hoped marriage with royal tricks and fortunes told by Herub.

The Tennessee Jubilee Singers eight-member troupe appeared in varied period attire and delivered soulful southern songs to a large appreciative crowd at the First Methodist Church. Despite cold weather, attendance was strong, and performances included classic spirituals such as Swing Low Sweet Chariot Roll Jordan Roll and Peter Go Ring Dem Bell. The act ran Monday and Tuesday May 4th and 5th.

Five Years Each for Holdups in Dillon District Court
The Dillon district court met for a special term under Judge Callaway. Arthur Phillips and Thomas Burns were convicted of grand larceny for robbing Joseph LeClair of $21.50 at Center Street and Railroad Avenue on January 18. They received five years apiece in the state prison. The court warned that future holdup convictions would bring ten years. Other cases included burglary, robbery, and several continuances and divorces among local residents and entities.

Mrs Lenora Pierce and Greyta Fulmer Arrested for Scamming Blind Widow
In Denver on April 28 Mrs Lenora Pierce aged nineteen and Miss Greyta Fulmer aged twenty one were arrested on charges of extorting nearly twenty thousand dollars from Harriet A Crowe sixty seven year old blind widow. Pierce posed as able to restore Crowe’s sight through spiritual treatment and collected five thousand dollars for services while Fulmer acted as Pierce’s assistant. Crowe had been duped during lengthy conversations and believed her sight was improving until suspicions led her to consult counsel and trigger the arrest.

Clapp Wins Oratorical Contest at Normal Hall
Thomas Clapp captured first place and Joseph Carroll took second in the Normal College oratorical contest held last Saturday night at Normal Hall. Clapp will represent the college at the state contest in Helena on Friday May 1. The topic was The Problems of Child Labor. All contestants delivered well and music accompanied the event with Miss McWethey's solos drawing praise.

Pulver Bound Over In District Court
