Montana Stockgrowers' Meeting Reports Finances and Growth
Secretary W. G. Previtt presents the twentieth annual report of the Montana Stockgrowers' association at Miles City. Cash on hand 22608.36 dollars, total receipts 50688.15, estrays receipts 48143.14 with 44315.96 paid to estray owners, total disbursements 50762.51 and expenses 2198.05. About 59 new names proposed for membership, near 75 since the last brand book. Legislation committee notes meritorious measures passed including cattle and horse mange and a new bounty bill, with several other bills lost in final sessions. A Denver conference report details joint committees proposing a one fourth cent per head assessment on 400000 cattle represented in the association to pursue railroad regulation reforms and livestock industry matters.
