Reif Named State Fire Marshal for Virginia City
Colonel George Reif of Virginia City was appointed state fire marshal by Insurance Commissioner H. R. Cunningham and will maintain an office in the department. An earlier accident in Glendive injured several, with one man dead after a fight in Missoula and a sheriff’s bond posted. Snow in eastern Montana aided ranchers, while Havre land office reporting a record first quarter with 200000 acres filed and 888 homestead applications.
