Draft Plans for 45-64 Registration Set for April 27

Plans for the fourth draft registration of those aged 45 to 64 are being prepared at the local board headquarters for Monday April 27. Sec J C Fuller says letters go to all workers who served February 16 to recruit volunteers again. Two districts Argenta and Ermont Mines will be covered from Dillon due to better weather. Workers and volunteers are urged to contact the local board to be listed in registration personnel. Registration runs 7 am to 9 pm. Preliminary estimates place registrants around 1000.

Ski club show rehearsals promise an expected big turnout

The annual Sportsmen’s Banquet highlights growing interest as Beaverhead anglers and guests gather in the guild hall. Rehearsals for the high school show Here Comes Charlie proceed with Edwin R. Graduation set as 56 seniors receive diplomas Thursday

Fifty six high school seniors will be awarded diplomas in the high school auditorium on Thursday evening May 7. Valedictorian is J. W. McCracken with 2.937, salutatorian Dorothy Davis with 2.800. Both will give addresses.

Monida Officer Arrests Former CCC Youth

William A. Watson a 19 year old former CCC youth was arrested at Monida by Special Deputy Sheriff M R Comfort and is held on burglary charges. He is alleged to have broken into the Port of Entry station on the state line at Monida and stolen clothing. He said he is a native of Malta Montana.

Dillon Lodge Hosts Installation as Butte Elks Aid

In Dillon, Emery K. Smith was installed as exalted ruler of Ellis Lodge No. 1554 with a full officer slate. The Dillon Gun Havre and Butte Trap clubs posted perfect 75s in the telegraphic shoot opening round, defeating Helena 75 to 72. Ted Renfro led scoring with 49x50, followed by J Barrett Herman Peterson and George Roe of Lima.

Forty Two Women Complete Red Cross First Aid Courses

Forty two Dillon women earned standard American Red Cross first aid certificates after ten weeks of instruction totaling 20 hours. Instructors were Miss Florence Hellman and Miss Marjorie Hamer from the Normal college. Attorney's Mother Summoned by Death

Mrs. L. L. Mayland mother of Atty. J. L. Mayland of Dillon died last Sunday night in a Great Falls hospital after a stay there since returning from the Mayo clinic. Attorney and Mrs. Mayland were at her bedside. Funeral services were held this morning in Great Falls.

Lima Man 85 Dies. Masonic Rites Held in Lima

John C. Gilston, 85, a Lima resident for five years, died at home last Thursday night. Evergreen lodge A F and A M conducted burial rites Saturday in Lima. He was born in 1857 in Orville California and lived in Bannack Butte and St. Anthony Idaho before returning to Butte. He leaves a wife a daughter Mrs Tom Cantrell of Lima two grandchildren Barbara and Preston Gaht Lima and relatives including a nephew and a niece. He belonged to Butte lodge 22 A F and A M and Damon lodge No 1 Knights of Pythias.
