Sgt Walter F Jones of Mon ida Montana is credited as a Yankee sharpshooter in North Africa. A gunner in the US Army Air Force he enlisted June 30 and trained at Darlingon Texas. He left for overseas duty in January and prior to service worked at the Belmont mine in Butte. His wife lives in the Mining City. Governor Ford issues a quarantine to prevent Oriental fruit moth into Montana affecting peach nectarine almond apricot plum cherry quince pear and related varieties.

Prominent Dillon Matron Nannie Nelson Dies
Mrs. Nannie Nelson widow of Theodore Nelson and longtime Dillon ranch resident died early Sunday at the home of Mrs. Arthur Brown. Born in Iowa in 1868 she moved to Dillon in 1894 and married in 1897. Survived by a daughter Mrs. Elwood Morrison, two sons Norman and Hugh T. Nelson, two brothers George Hughes and Albert Hughes, and other relatives.

Mrs. George Gosman announced the winners of the annual poppy poster contest at the American Legion Auxiliary meeting. Mrs. Etta Holderman 75 died Thursday at a Dillon home after a long illness. Born in Chippewa Falls Minnesota August 23 1867 she moved to eastern Montana in 1880 and married Charles A Coon in Miles City. Survivors include four sons Olive Irion a daughter and many relatives. Last rites were held at Brundage chapel with Rev Leonard Thompson. Interment in Mountain View cemetery.
