Beaverhead Cattlemen Anticipate Strong Spring Beef Market

Beaverhead county cattlemen expect about 7,500 head of steers and 4,050 head of fat cows to feed this winter and spring. With roughly 1 1 000 dollars per acre for beef and a spring delivery, ranchers project total receipts around 1 078 125 from beef steers and about 268 000 from cattle at current prices. Prices and demand remain strong as cattle move toward market.

Honor Roll At Beaverhead County High School

Thirty six students are named on the Beaverhead County High School honor roll this week. A. W. Stephenson of Dillon has been chosen to pilot the first Fokker airplane for the Na fon Parks Airways. The new air mail service will cover Great Falls to Salt Lake with start set for June 16. Hartwig to Feature Slade Taylor Musical Comedy Troupe

Slade Mike Taylor's high class musical comedy company, a winter hit at the Broadway in Butte, will appear tomorrow night at the Hartwig theatre in Dillon. Bo Hartwig says the stellar attraction, led by Taylor as prize comedian, continues the theater's popular program. McMillan's dance orchestra also returns next Sunday with the ragtime picture program. The entertainers played Monday and scored a distinct hit.

Beaverhead County Schools to Stage Third Annual Meet this Spring

Beaverhead county grade school pupils will assemble in Dillon on April 27 and 28 for the third annual Beaverhead county high school sponsored meet. Principal A T Peterson announced the dates after a faculty meeting Monday night. The Dillon public school will not participate. Events include track and field under Coach B Anderson with prizes from Dillon business Metal. A scholastic contests division will offer additional awards, with a probable loving cup for the overall winner.

Fannie Cahill of Alder Died After Illness

Miss Fannie Cahill longtime Alder Gulch native and Dillon resident died at home in Dillon following a five week illness from heart trouble. She will be buried Friday at Mountain View cemetery after 10 30 a m mass at St Rose church officiated by Father Lechner. Free children’s clinic held at Barrett hospital

A free clinic for preschool children was held last Friday afternoon at Barrett hospital under the direction of Mrs Bertha Lambertson, Beaverhead county health nurse. Several youngsters were examined as part of a program supported by the Parent Teachers association to identify and correct remedial defects before next fall’s school opening.

Beaver High Paper Enters State Contest at Missoula Meet

The Beaverhead county high school weekly The Beaver has been entered in the state high school newspaper contest to be held during the interscholastic meet in Missoula May 10 and 11. Light election results show HM Brundage and J H Gilbert re elected to the Dillon public schools District No. 10 board with 39 and 37 votes respectively.
