Florence Hughes, Emma Knox and Charity Hill elected delegates to the district meeting in Butte June 26 and 27. A cake celebrated the anniversary and Nellie Nelson recounted the lodge history.

Talent shoots flawless at Dillon gun club event
In a Dillon Gun Club shoot, Dix Talent of the Dillon club hit 50 straight in singles and 25 more in handicaps, leading a strong field as the club tunes up for the Montana Standard mail shoot with 15 clubs competing. Meanwhile a fire wrecked the Conoco service station at Montana and Glendale, starting when a toppled car spilled gas and ignited by a water heater, with rapid response by volunteers and rebuilding to begin.

Easter Services Draw Dillon Churches In Festive Weekend
Dillon churches were crowded as Easter Sunday worship filled with triumph music and sermons on the Resurrection. Mild weather aided the Paster parade and hundreds of children hunted more than 500 eggs on the Normal college campus. Beaverhead Chamber of Commerce sponsored the event with prizes and an egg rolling contest.

Beaverhead County High School has been accepted for membership in the North Central Association of Secondary Schools and Higher Education, announced by State High School Supervisor A. O. Gullidge via Principal D. L. Johnson. Membership criteria include curriculum, staff qualifications, library resources, and extracurriculars. The school is also a member of the Northwest Association, and its graduates are eligible for attendance at colleges nationwide.

Mrs. Helen McNinch Dolan 21 native of Lima wife of Walter Dolan died suddenly early Saturday at her home after a heart attack. She had attended an entertainment Friday night and had returned home when stricken. She had heart trouble for over a year. Survived by husband and parents, several siblings and in laws. Funeral held at Methodist church in Lima with graveside rites by VFW auxiliary. Pallbearers named and choir sang.

Edgar Williams II, a Dillon businessman and World War II veteran, won the mayoral race with 400 votes to incumbent O T Vandegrift's 323. Williams led the new Progressive party which also captured five of eight council seats, with Citizens party holding three seats. New Progressive council members are Phillip Cottom Albert Erickson Waldron Boger Clarence Baril and Frank Uasich. Citizens winners are Archie Green William Mitchell and H E Morse, with Green as a new member. Treasurer F C McFadden and Police Magistrate George E Baker were nominated by both parties, receiving 663 and 658 votes respectively, while Vandegrift remains Dillon fire chief.

Aged Dillon Man Claimed by Illness
B F Allerton 81 longtime Dillon resident died Saturday evening at his daughter's home after a long illness. Born February 20 1886 in Springfield Illinois he lived on the Pacific coast before moving to Dillon in 1928 where he lived with his daughter Mrs George F Dart. He was a carpenter and a member of the Dillon Carpenters union life member of Woodlawn lodge 171 IOOF Portland and a member of the Portland Modern Woodmen camp. Surviving are his widow Anna M Allerton a son in law and daughter Mr and Mrs George F Dart of Dillon and several sisters and brothers in law including Mr and Mrs Frank E Wise Mr and Mrs Jesse W Finsley Mr and Mrs M P Macken and James W Finsley and many nieces and nephews in Kansas and California. Funeral held at Brundage funeral home with Rev Omer Idso of the Methodist church officiating and burial in Mountain View cemetery. Pallbearers C W Buckingham Henry Deutsch Otto Sassman Norman Giles Charles Nelson and Frank McFadden.

May 1 Closing Date for AAA Sign-Up in Beaverhead
Beav erhead county ranchers must sign farm plans by May 1 for the 1947 AAA program. The county committee will decide later which practices to implement, including alfalfa phosphorus, weed control, willow treatment, drainage, pasture reseeding, and irrigation reorganization.
