Fortieth Anniversary at Sparks Farm Observed in Newbro Township
The fortieth wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Sparks was celebrated last Sunday at their Newbro township farm home. The Sparks 640 acre farm is noted as well equipped with fine buildings stock and machinery. They moved from Grafton in 1885 and have eleven children. Attendees included W. P. Governor Burke Sees ND Crops Better Than Reported
Gov John Burke says crops in North Dakota are better than reported except for extreme southwest. He spoke during a trip to Grand Forks for the fair and noted the damage has been confined to that region. North Dakota imposes net weight requirements for lard sold in the state after July 1, all products sold by weight or measure must be labeled per Food, Drug and Beverage Laws. Bread must weigh two pounds per loaf and be sold in whole, half, or quarter loaves with exact labeling to prove weight.
